Set up self-checkout

Shoppers scan, bag and pay at a station. One person watches every station and steps in when one asks.

  1. Open Business.
  2. Tap Self-checkout.
  3. Tap Add station and give it a name, like Lane 1.
  4. On the device shoppers will use, tap Open here.
  5. Keep Self-checkout open on a staff device. Answer each station when it asks.

Good to know

  • A scale under the bagging area checks each bag. Set it up in Counter devices.
  • Card payments are taken on your own card machine. Staff press Paid once it says approved.
  • To leave a station, use the shop admin PIN, or close it from Self-checkout.
  • Shoppers press Start, then say if they are a member. The camera shows their card as they scan it.
  • A member sees their name, the last four phone digits and a part-hidden email.
  • Every coupon that applies is listed. The best one goes on by itself.
  • At a station only the card QR works, not the printed number. Points are used at the till.
  • Shoppers can add a gift card. It pays part of the bill, or all of it.
  • Each scan shows a big card: photo, size, price, offer and return rule.
  • The language is picked on the Start screen. Accessibility gives read aloud and bigger text.
  • It also gives stronger contrast, lower controls and more time. It resets after each shopper.
  • For a brand's own card, save its number on the customer's Member card sheet.
